GlobalTouch Lands Greenfield Communications
Hosted VoIP and video provider GlobalTouch Telecom Inc. (Booth 708) landed a new customer in Greenfield Communications. The company builds FTTH networks for master-planned communities.
Residents in Greenfield communities have had access to GlobalTouch digital voice services since July.
As wired communities continue to sprout across the country, such as those developed by Greenfield, its no surprise that domestic consumers continue to embrace VoIP and its many benefits, said Gregory Welch, CEO of GlobalTouch Telecom.
Recent research released by In-Stat shows the worldwide VoIP market grew by 34 million new subscribers in 2006. In-Stat expects the consumer VoIP market will total close to $44 billion worldwide by 2011.
What is truly important to note is that as an industry, we are barely scratching the surface in regard to consumer market penetration, Welch said. Greenfield Communications claims more than 5,000 current customers and has projects in the works covering nearly 300,000 homes.
GlobalTouchs business model lets ISPs, carriers, resellers and others launch private-labeled VoIP services.
