GlobalFon Implements Info Directions CostGuard.NET OSS/BSS Solution

Herndon, Va.-based service provider GlobalFon Inc. has implemented Info Directions (Booth 910) CostGuard.NET OSS/BSS software solution to manage rating, billing and customer care functions for its global leisure and business travel communications products.

GlobalFon provides communications services to global travelers with a full product portfolio that includes calling cards, audio conferencing, and U.S., Canadian and global wireless services. The company serves travelers worldwide from offices in Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Ireland, Japan, South Africa, the United States and Venezuela. Customers based in more than 80 countries, from leisure and student travelers to the frequent-flying employees of international companies and government agencies, use GlobalFons calling services each month.

GlobalFon selected Info Directions CostGuard.NET OSS/BSS solution for its ability to support the companys unique international business requirements. Built on Microsofts .NET Framework, CostGuard.NET allows GlobalFon to rate calls easily and generate a single bill for end users who may be calling from New York to Chicago one day and Tokyo to Sydney the next. In addition, the Info Directions ASP provides the companys personnel around the world with dependable 24/7 access to the CostGuard.NET OSS/BSS.

CostGuard.NET is a billing system for a truly global calling portfolio, says Kevin Mulcahy, president of GlobalFon. It has the ability to rate a call from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world on behalf of an end user who needs to receive their invoice anywhere in the world. Thats the kind of flexibility end users expect from their global communications providers, so its what we expect from our back office.

GlobalFon recently tapped CostGuard.NETs enhanced rating capabilities and flexible product catalog with the launch of its Global Mobile product. Global Mobile allows end users in more than 70 countries to make mobile telephone calls anywhere in the world for low rates and receive a single bill in English, Japanese, Spanish or Portuguese. The Global Mobile service eliminates the unpredictable and frequently excessive international roaming charges that customers experience when taking their domestic phone to international destinations.
