Fusion Connect just added Cisco Webex to its FusionWorks business communication platform to support secure virtual meetings from any device, anywhere.

FusionWorks is a cloud-based business communication service that combines hosted voice and unified communications. Now powered by the newest Webex technologies, the offering aims to work in diverse business environments. And it includes built-in security.

“The changing business landscape requires greater enablement of remote workers for collaborating across locations and making video usage a priority, as in-person meetings are currently not an option,” said Jeff Blackey, Fusion Connect’s senior vice president of product. “Combining our … FusionWorks voice service with the latest Cisco Webex software creates a premier UCaaS platform for our customers.”

Businesses can hold secure virtual meetings with up to 1,000 attendees. They can also screen and file share, whiteboard, record and transcribe, instant message, and make calls from one phone number.

Also, FusionWorks with Webex integrates with third-party applications like Outlook, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Dropbox, Box and others.

Last fall, Michael Miller, a former EarthLink consultant and NetFortris vet, joined the Fusion Connect management team as chief information officer. This rounded out the company’s senior management team. Previously, the company hired Brian Crotty as its CEO, Mario DeRiggi as chief revenue officer and John Dobbins as chief operating officer.
