Fusion Connect now offers calling services that allow Microsoft Teams users to make calls to people outside the organization.

Teams Direct Routing includes these features:

  • One phone number across all Teams-enabled devices. This means no need for multiple phone numbers or juggling calls between a desk phone, computer and mobile device.

  • Interactions across platforms. With the ability to call anyone, Teams users doesn’t have to pause their work to call external colleagues or customers.

  • Desk phones are optional. Since calls can be made through multiple devices, businesses achieve cost savings by scaling back their investment in phones for every desk.

Improving Microsoft Teams

“Microsoft Teams is an excellent collaboration tool, and it only gets better with our calling services connected through Direct Routing,” said Jeff Blackey, Fusion’s senior vice president of product. “Teams users can call anyone outside the company – partners, suppliers or customers – in addition to all those within the organization.”

Fusion is a Microsoft Cloud Services Provider (CSP). Its customers can subscribe to Microsoft 365 through Fusion, combine Teams with its calling services, and have their entire UCaaS platform managed through one provider.

The pandemic forced companies to quickly pivot and adapt to a new hybrid working environment — often unplanned. Some offices shuttered indefinitely and will never reopen. In addition, others are slowly reopening and need to give employees flexible communication options, the company noted.

Here’s our most recent list of new products and services that agents, VARs, MSPs and other partners offer.

George Schoenstein is Fusion‘s senior vice president of marketing and communications.

“We expect that remote work will continue to be a large part of the new normal, and having a complete UC solution is critical to business success,” he said.

The Teams platform has more than 115 million daily active users.

“This represents a tremendous opportunity for Fusion Connect to continue to grow its market share in UCaaS and voice services.” Schoenstein said.

Earlier this month, Fusion added Cisco Webex to its FusionWorks business communication platform to support secure virtual meetings from any device, anywhere. FusionWorks combines hosted voice and UC. Now powered by the newest Webex technologies, the offering aims to work in diverse business environments. And it includes built-in security.
