Clint Heiden, the former president of Sidera Networks who was instrumental in that company’s $2 billion-plus merger with Lightower Networks, has taken a new role at Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider EdgeConneX.
Heiden also is a familiar name to channel partners thanks to his time as head of PAETEC’s fiber services division, which was Intellifiber until PAETEC bought it in 2010.
Now, Heiden has been hired as chief commercial officer of EdgeConneX, which does sell, in part, through the indirect channel. He will oversee customer advisory efforts and overall company vision. EdgeConneX specializes in IaaS including space, power and connectivity for managing data centers and small cells at the network edge.
Heiden has held a number of executive-level positions during his more than 20 years in the communications industry; for example, he also has worked in high-up jobs for Cable & Wireless America, Qwest, UUNET and InterCon Systems.
