FCC Wants Comments on Report for National Broadband
The FCC is asking for public comment on information that could help it form the national broadband plan, due next February, as assigned earlier this year by Congress.
The FCC had Harvard University survey global telecom companies about the policies under which they operate. The agency has the report in hand and wants feedback about the findings.
Perhaps the most interesting tidbit the Harvard report contains is that most high-performing countries that abide by open Internet access, or net neutrality, provisions and their businesses are booming. The matter is a contentious one in the United States; in fact, the FCC this week is expected to unveil its net neutrality notice of proposed rulemaking.
