Michael Miller, a former EarthLink consutant and NetFortris vet, has joined the Fusion Connect management team as chief information officer.

This rounds out Fusion Connect’s senior management team. During the past few months, the company has hired Brian Crotty as its CEO, Mario DeRiggi as chief revenue officer and John Dobbins as chief operating officer.

In January, Fusion Connect emerged from chapter 11 bankruptcy, which eliminated about $400 million of its long-term debt in the reorganization.

As CIO, Miller will be responsible for enhancing employee productivity, and protecting corporate and customer assets. He will be a critical part of the overall corporate goal to “transform into a next generation managed services provider.”

“Simplify, standardize, automate and optimize will be my mantra in driving this transformation,” he said. “By empowering the highly committed employee base, the customers will enjoy greater consistency in experience and improved service levels. I am excited about the chance to create this kind of impact.”

Extensive Management History

Miller brings more than 25 years of management experience to the Fusion Connect management team. He most recently was vice president of IT operations and governance at Tronox. While there, he completed an extensive SD-WAN network deployment on six continents.

Miller also was chief integration officer at NetFortris and consultant to EarthLink’s chief technology officer. And he was chief marketing officer at Renesys and head of security for Global Crossing.

“With Michael we have filled out our senior leadership team that will drive our overall corporate strategy and execution going forward,” Crotty said. “His focus on enabling our employees and customers with an optimized systems infrastructure is a critical component to Fusion Connect’s product and services strategy and will enable us to provide that winning employee and customer experience.”
