COMPTEL Elects New Board Members

Members of COMPTEL, the association that represents the competitive communications industry, have elected 12 companies to serve on the board of directors for the 2012-2014 term.

COMPTEL lobbies federal and state governments on behalf of competitive service providers, many of which sell through the indirect channel.

This week, the board re-elected Dale Schmick, chief strategy officer at YourTel America Inc., for his second term as chairman. Rochelle D. Jones, senior vice president at tw telecom inc., also was returns as vice chairman, and Jim Butman, group president at TDS, once again was chosen as treasurer.

Rounding out the Executive Committee are four at-large members: Matt Carter, president of Sprint Wholesale Solutions; Julia Strow, co-founder of Cbeyond Inc.; Deborah Ward, CEO of TSI; and Jerry Watts, vice president of government and industry affairs at EarthLink.
