CHANNEL PARTNERS Clio (Booth 4049), which has developed a Web-based practice management platform for small and mid-sized law firms, this week is talking up its revamped Clio Certified Consultant (CCC) program.

The original CCC started in 2010 but has been overhauled to include a new payment setup, a Preferred Partner Program and adjusted rules of engagement.

Here’s an overview of the changes, First, the Clio platform costs $65 per user. Clio pays on a monthly basis. It now pays partners 20 percent of the monthly recurring revenue, as long as the client stays with Clio. Previously, Clio paid commissions for five years, rather than for the life of the customer.

In addition, Clio has introduced its Preferred Partner Program. Partners who reach $1,000 in monthly recurring revenue over a calendar year receive:

  • Priority lead assignment

  • Dedicated marketing funds

  • One free pass to the Clio Cloud Conference 2014 in Chicago

  • One guest post on the Clio blog

  • A case study of the partner’s business

Clio said achieving this goal is as simple as signing one 16-user client or four four-user law firms.

Finally, Clio has instituted new engagement between partners and its direct sales team. Every opportunity now features the involvement of a dedicated Clio account executive who works with the partner to close the deal.

Clio’s Web-based platform provides contact management, calendaring, time tracking, note-taking, document management and generation, expense recording, and collaboration and billing. Clio offers a seven-day free trial to end users.

Clio was founded in 2008. The company says it has more than 150 active resellers across North America, South America, Europe and Australia.
