CLEC TelNet Expands Even in Tough Economy

Most companies – including service providers – either are downsizing or imposing hiring freezes these days. But not TelNet Worldwide Inc..

The Michigan-based CLEC said Wednesday it has expanded its network in the Kalamazoo and Traverse City markets, reaching a minimum of 11 new cities.

“We’re 10 years solid, evolving as a company and growing strong. That’s a pretty positive direction to be going in today’s trying economic environment,” said Mark Iannuzzi, TelNet’s founder and president, in a news release.

TelNet provides on-net voice and data services, including VoIP, wireless and colocation, to businesses throughout Michigan. The privately held company – which is recruiting agents – said its network carries more than 4 million minutes of traffic per month.

“We will continue to invest in people, technology and infrastructure here to help companies in Michigan step up on a local, regional and global basis,” Iannuzzi said.
