Cisco, NGT Team for VoIP Workshop, Lab

Cisco Systems Inc.’s (Booth #1108) small business unit has teamed with hosted VoIP provider New Global Telecom Inc. to offer a VoIP workshop and lab to VARs attending SMB Nation’s 2010 VoIP Workshop, which is colocated with the Channel Partners Conference & Expo, March 1-3, at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.

The workshop, How to Sell VoIP in SMB – Overcoming FUD, will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, in South Pacific A. Presenters Matt Wilson, director of product management – agent program for New Global Telecom, and Matt Wass de Czege, manager of small business marketing for Cisco, will show VARs how to overcome the challenge of adding VoIP as a offering to their small and medium business customers. IP Telephony, SIP, QoS, VLANs and Unified Communications are common everyday terms for the tech-savvy, but to the average business owner their meaning is lost, the executives claim. Instead they will cover the questions businesses care about – features, saving money and quality. The presenters promise to help VARs come away with a plan to wow current clientele while add monthly recurring VoIP revenue to their existing portfolios.

Later Tuesday, 2:30-4 p.m. in South Pacific B, the two companies will host a lab and technical overview of NGT’s Hosted Digital Voice Services with Cisco gear. Presenter David Ling, training manager for New Global Telecom will review the Hosted Digital Voice service, call flow, hosted VoIP LAN architecture design, and installation tips and tricks.

As part of the colocation agreement, full conference attendees at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo can participate in the SMB Nation education programming at no additional charge.

SMB Nation is a publishing and events company, targeted at the small and medium business technology consultant and reseller community.
