OTC Bandwidth Brokers Partner
Over the counter (OTC) brokers are forging partnerships to bring their matchmaking skills to capacity trading, intending to eliminate bids and offers floating unanswered in cyberspace.
Chapel Hill Broadband
(www.chbroadband.com) announced in July an exclusive deal with Bandwidth.com
(www.bandwidth.com) to link buyers and sellers of wholesale capacity. The arrangement expands Bandwidth.com from a retail capacity marketplace answering RFQs from enterprises to pairing carriers seeking and selling bandwidth, dark fiber and collocation.
Bandwidth brokerage Amerex Bandwidth
(www.amerexbandwidth.com) expects to close on a similar deal with an online exchange by the end of summer. It already has partnered with Universal Access Inc.
(www.universalaccess.net) to facilitate delivery of completed trades. Universal Access will provision, install and manage local loop and long-haul circuits that
connect trading participants.
“Without a delivery solution, the buyer and seller must overcome the local loop hurdle on their own, often resulting in time delays that average over 180 days,” says Amerex Bandwidth president Michael Moore.
