Newbridge Acquires TimeStep, Northchurch

Newbridge Networks Corp., Kanata, Ontario, a provider of wide area networking (WAN)
solutions, announced it has closed the acquisitions of both TimeStep Corp., Kanata,
Ontario, and Northchurch Communications Inc., Andover, Mass.

Acquiring the two companies enhances Newbridge’s ability to deliver comprehensive
Internet protocol (IP) virtual private network (VPN) and intelligent network-edge
solutions to Internet service providers (ISPs) and other voice and data communications
companies. According to Newbridge President and Chief Operating Officer Alan Lutz, the
acquisitions are part of Newbridge’s IP strategy to enable customers to deliver
business-class IP-VPN services to consumers.
