Clear Reach Networks, a wired and wireless service provider for the northern and central Colorado area, including Denver, is launching business VoIP services using the Broadvox LLC hosted-PBX platform.

Clear Reach was one of four new customer announced today by Broadvox, including Hotwire Communications, Virtual-Switch.Com, Inc. and VoIP Canada Inc. The Denver-based company uses mostly T1 and DSL connectivity to reach its customers, but also uses wireless connectivity in smaller cities, such as Greeley and Loveland.

Clear Reach is in the midst of a soft launch of services, turning up early customers and will begin a broad marketing push of the service soon.

Clear Reach chose to use the Broadvox platform because it is almost completely flexible for individual features, says Kevin Mercado, CEO of Clear Reach. We can add and subtract features, and build our own packages that make sense for us and our customers in marketing and cost. It is basically a la carte from them.

Clear Reach has taken the Broadvox menu of features and put together several standard packages, but we are flexible in letting them choose things that might not be in our packages but we know that Broadvox offers, Mercado says.

The service will be offered with a range of customer premises equipment. We use a lot of different equipment, says Mercado. That was the other thing that we liked about Broadvox, that they were open to certifying all kinds of VoIP equipment. We can offer a broad choice of VoIP phones.

Clear Reach services can also work with existing PBXs and other legacy customer equipment. That was one of clinchers for us in choosing Broadvox, Mecado says, that they have a trunk line replacement that we can plug into PBXs. [Customers] can stay with the equipment that they already have but still get the savings that VoIP might offer.

Of the four customers Broadvox announced today, Gerry DeHaven, Broadvoxs president of channel sales, says each has a solid back-office platform that lets the company integrate easily with their systems. “Unlike competitors that require their reseller partners to incorporate their platforms, Broadvox brings significant flexibility and a rapid entry into the market by easily connecting to existing back-office systems, DeHaven says.

HotWire Communications provides cable, telephone and Internet services to residential multifamily properties, while Virtual-Switch.Com offers the telecommunications industry the option of owning and managing their own virtual switches.
