Global UCaaS provider BroadSoft Tuesday announced it has acquired Intellinote, an enterprise messaging-based team communication and collaboration software app.

Taher Behbehani, BroadSoft’s chief digital and marketing officer, tells Channel Partners the company will announce specific product and partner plans at Connections 2016, its annual user conference, later this year.

“BroadSoft will now offer a full suite of services the channel can deliver, including UC, team collaboration (enterprise messaging, advanced collaboration and project/task/content management) and contact center, and work to integrate these over time,” he said. “We believe there are emerging opportunities particularly in the team collaboration, enterprise messaging and project management markets as evidenced by growing adoption of tools like Intellinote and Redbooth, etc.”{ad}

Tuesday’s announcement follows February’s news that BroadSoft was acquiring Transera, a provider of cloud-based contact center software for SMBs and large enterprises, to take on the cloud contact center market.

“Intellinote primarily sells using a digital direct ‘freemium try and buy model,’” Behbehani said. “Intellinote has programs for OEM, software vendors and developers, and there will be no impact as far as its channel-partner relationships. Their channel programs and go to market strategies will be expanded to leverage BroadSoft’s market coverage.”

MarketsandMarkets forecasts the UCaaS market to grow from $15.12 billion in 2015 to $24.9 billion by 2020. This represents a compound annual growth rate of 10.5 percent.

Consolidation in UCaaS is rampant. Last fall, Vonage acquired Core Networks. Also, Momentum Telecom purchased UCaaS provider Alteva.
