Broad Air Selects AT&T Networking Infrastructure
Broad Air Communications Inc., a provider of high-speed Internet access for residential and business customers, has selected AT&T Corp. to provide portions of the networking infrastructure for its wireless Internet service. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Using AT&T’s IP backbone, Broad Air will provide customers in rural communities with high-speed Internet access, e-mail and other IP services. The company will use existing radio towers along with a directional antenna and modem at subscribers’ locations to provide a symmetrical service.
Broad Air says it expects to be the first to deliver high-speed broadband service to many areas, beginning in western New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
