*EUR Systems announced ILC, a carrier that provides access to domestic and international long-distance services, has selected its Global Wholesale Solution to process call data minutes, automate report functions for real-time account balance information and access client accounts via the Internet. Wholesale billing is a major revenue stream for interexchange carriers.

DSET Corp. and BizTelOne (BTO) have agreed to create a clearinghouse for OSS interconnection called the American Communica-tions Exchange (ACX), which initially will offer interconnection to incumbent carriers in the United States for pre-order, LSR and ASR transactions. BizTelOne will have the right to deploy DSET’s other gateways in the clearinghouse, including those that support local number portability, emergency (911) services, changing a long-distance carrier, calling-card and caller ID services and the exchange of trouble tickets with ILECs.

NeuStar Inc. announced about 200 national service providers have joined its Customer Account Record Exchange (CARE) Clearinghouse since its inception in June. The clearinghouse mediates CARE messages transmitted among participating providers each time a subscriber changes phone numbers, adds a phone line or switches service providers, enabling local and long-distance service providers to streamline customer records and resolve customer billing issues.

The wireless packet-based wireless billing market is expected to catapult from $94.6 million in 2001 to $855.7 million in 2005, driven by service provider demand for usage-based, as well as flat-rate, billing support systems, according to industry analyst IDC..

Intec Telecom Systems signed a deal with Verizon Communications Inc., in which Intec will supply carrier-to-carrier billing, mediation billing and related operations support systems to Verizon Services Group. The Verizon Services Group provides technology to Verizon subsidiaries and affiliates in more than 40 countries.

GMS Consulting Inc., a facilities-based wholesale provider of international and domestic long distance, has selected the WebCDR carrier billing solution from software provider Switch Management Corp.

Integrated billing and customer care software provider Convergys Corp. announced availability of its Active Revenue Management (ARM) software product, Geneva Version 5.0. This version integrates prepaid and post-paid accounts, enabling operators to bundle and deliver innovative content, commerce and communication services and discounts to all customers, irrespective of payment option. Convergys also committed to integrated Geneva Active Revenue Management (ARM) software with the fixed and mobile e-Payments technologies of iPIN, creating a solution that covers rating, billing and e-payments.
