“This age of hyperaccelerating technology waits for no one, and it’s critical that trusted advisers are in position to help enterprise customers evolve,” said Shane McNamara, Avant’s executive vice president of East sales. “As we build on our incredible culture here at Avant, Scott brings unmatched network services expertise and the kind of hunger that will take our partners to 10x territory.”

McElwee worked the last eight years at Spectrum Enterprise as a senior channel manager. He spent five years at Windstream Communications, where he led the company’s channel in the North region. He also served in direct and indirect sales at NuVox.

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in January.

Avant describes McElwee as offering deep expertise in cloud, software-defined networking, security, unified communications as a service (UCaaS) and contact center as a service (CCaaS).

“I am thrilled to offer my energy and expertise to Avant’s thriving ecosystem,” McElwee said. “I believe Avant is not only the industry leader to leverage products like UCaaS, CCaaS and more; they also deliver analytics and marketing initiatives that allow trusted advisers to best position these products. I look forward to helping these partners shape end user behavior and help CIOs make the most informed decision for their business.”

Avant earlier this month announced a new ssenior director of business development and a director of cloud engineering.
