BillSoft Inc. (Booth 404) announced today at the ASCENT Fall Conference & Networking Forum their EZTax taxation software has surpassed another milestone. A benchmark study, performed Oct. 11, verified BillSoft’s EZTax taxed more than 1.8 billion transactions in one hour, which translates to 31,582,551 transactions taxed per minute or 526,375 transactions taxed per second.

"This clearly distinguishes BillSoft’s EZTax product as the highest performance telecommunications taxation engine available," says Vicki Klein, president of BillSoft.

Klein says customers will see no substantial increase in bill-processing times as compared to performing processing without taxation, adding other tax products on the market typically double the time it takes for an organization to perform the rating function.

"The technology utilized to achieve this remarkable performance also simplifies the integration process," Klein explains. "Organizations often spend many times the yearly license fees to integrate other products for taxation, whereas EZTax has been up and running at a customer’s facility in as little as a day."

Clients of BillSoft can license EZTax or use BillSoft Online, the online service bureau. BillSoft provides monthly updates of tax rates, logic, addresses, taxing jurisdictions and software. BillSoft also is partnered with billing and OSS providers, to provide communications companies a one-stop approach and a seamless billing/taxation system. The company announced just such a deal with Profitec at this week’s event.
