AireSpring to Use McLeodUSA Network

AireSpring Inc., a competitive carrier based in Southern California, said Wednesday it will use McLeodUSA Inc.s 20-state network to carry local voice services.

The partnership primarily focuses on T-1 and PRI local voice circuits, the companies said, but AireSpring will also offer DS-1 level dedicated Internet access on the McLeodUSA backbone.

The McLeodUSA network reaches nearly 500 cities, including many Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets not currently served by any other facilities-based CLEC, said Daniel Lonstein, COO of AireSpring. This significantly expands the local service coverage we can provide to our corporate customers with geographically diverse locations, while still delivering a single, unified bill for multiple networks and a single point of contact for customer service.
