AireSpring, the provider of cloud communications and managed connectivity solutions, has hired John Young, previously with NetFortris for more than 13 years, to lead its global channel sales team.

As senior vice president of channel sales, Young also will spearhead management of existing and new relationships with master agents, MSPs, VARs and subagents.

Young tells Channel Partners he’s excited about AireSpring’s “story, reputation and strong history” with the channel. He also said AireSpring’s channel strategy is “aggressive and full of growth plans.”

“Channel is about responsiveness and the mindset to strengthen partnerships every day,” he said. “I give that commitment to AireSpring’s valued partners.”

As NetFortris’ executive vice president of global sales and global channel chief, his responsibilities included both enterprise and channel sales, channel marketing and account management. He joined NetFortris when it acquired Fonality in 2018.

During his time with NetFortris/Fonality, Young was responsible for building the North American and international sales teams and program. He also developed partnerships with VARs, master agents and subagents.

“There are many technology options available to partners today,” he said. “We have to be on the leading edge of solution-minded education.”

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in January.

Young said he always follows through with his commitments, and “good, bad or ugly, I will always respond. We work for our partners, not the other way around,” he said.

As for what he hopes to have accomplished a year from now, Young said “fat bank accounts for my channel reps and partners. This means we have executed our 2020 goals,” he said.

“We are thrilled to have a deeply experienced global channel sales executive such as John join our executive team,” said Daniel Lonstein, AireSpring‘s president and chief revenue officer. “John’s vision and leadership have been instrumental in driving innovation and growth within the channel where he is well respected. We look forward to his contributions to the future growth and success of AireSpring as we enter a new decade in our company history and forge our global expansion.”

AireSpring’s services include SD-WAN, AirePBX UCaaS, AireContact Cloud Contact Center, SIP trunking, MPLS, disaster recovery, managed security and business internet.
