A Wide Opening
Some of you know that in addition to fulfilling my role as EVP of sales and marketing for Broadvox, I also play the trumpet. Perhaps the most life-changing day for me was when I heard a song played by trumpeter Bill Chase called Open Up Wide.”
The song begins with a soulful wail representing the need for change. It then flows into a frenetic cacophony of blaring trumpets and booming bass lines declaring the arrival of a new rock sound. It captivated me and became a song that I would pick up my trumpet and play along with whenever faced with a new challenge.
The song seems appropriate as Broadvox announces Bruce Chatterley as president and CEO. Bruces arrival is a clear statement of our intent to continue delivering innovative IP/VoIP/SIP Trunking products and solutions. Broadvox began as a small company led by Andre Temnorod, Eugene Blumin and Alex Bederman. Over the last 10 years, we have grown to an industry-leading IP communications and hosted service provider with over $100 million per year in sales. However, we know that we can achieve much more. Bruce brings to Broadvox the management experience of being with large companies (Ameritech, IBM, GE) and more entrepreneurial SMBs (ViAir, Concur, Speakeasy, MegaPath). It is this combination of business acumen and industry experience that positions him to join our leadership team as president and CEO.
I have worked with Andre Temnorod, Broadvox chairman, and the other co-founders for five years and have the ultimate respect for their life stories and success. Yet, this decision demonstrates more about their desire to win than almost any other made since my arrival. With the addition of Bruce, Andre can apply himself to incorporating new technologies into our product offerings and directing the growth of our national network and hosting infrastructure. With two such industry leaders we can attack and address the IP markets stronger, faster and better.
And thats the real point. Broadvox is about to open up wide.
