Prominent IT and telecom companies like LogMeIn and Telarus announced the hiring of new leaders to kick off 2021.

Personnel stories made up the majority of our headlines this week. Our editors wrote about two master agents that added to their staff.  We also saw the acquisition of a UCaaS provider and highlighted some 2021 predictions.

6. Salesforce Vet to Lead LogMeIn Marketing, Says Partners Will Be ‘Huge’ Focus

The remote access and UCC provider tapped a new chief marketing officer.

Jamie Domenici previously worked as Salesforce’s global vice president of customer adoption, marketing and business development. She said her historic focus on SMB customers made LogMeIn a strong fit. She called supporting partners “a top priority for me and my team.”

5. BCM One Buys SkySwitch, Gives MSPs White-Label UCaaS Offering

The multilocation communications provider expanded its portfolio with an acquisition.

BCM One bought SkySwitch, which provides a white-label UCaaS solution that partners can sell to SMB and midmarket customers. The purchase fits into a sequence of acquisitions that collectively fill gaps in the company’s UCaaS and SIP trunking porfolio.

4. TBI to Sell Avaya, Hires CenturyLink, RingCentral Alums

The Chicago-based firm is putting the pedal to the metal at the start of 2021.

TBI signed an agreement to distribute Avaya’s UCaaS and CCaaS solutions. It also added three other vendors to its portfolio.

In addition, TBI added two channel managers.

3. Cloud, 5G Highlight 2021 Predictions for the Channel

Channel partners will see big opportunities with SMB and midmarket customers in 2021, says one expert.

Influential members of the channel gave various predictions for the upcoming year. That includes the expansion of the network edge and an increased emphasis on security.

2. Channel People on the Move: Avaya, 8×8, Verizon, More

Verizon named a new channel chief.

The carrier tapped Wendy Tacceta as senior vice president of global commercial operations and channel chief of Verizon Business Group.

Our latest personnel recap featured a variety of company types that filled new positions. For example, Avant Communications promoted two familiar faces to bigger roles.

Craig Galbraith assembled the gallery.

The Utah-based master agent tapped Meghan Hambacher Wilkinson as its new chief revenue officer.

Wilkinson boasts many years of experience at Level 3, CenturyLink and now Lumen Technologies. She has worn a variety of hats, including vice president of global enterprise application engineering and vice president of indirect, partner and customer success.

Telarus grew rapidly in 2020, and it landed a private equity investment.
