Birch Communications Updates TotalCloud PBX Hosted Phone System

Birch Communications is now allowing customers to use their own SIP-compliant handset devices with its TotalCloud PBX hosted phone system. Here's everything you need to know.

Birch Communications is giving customers "the freedom to choose the right handset to meet their individual needs."

The Atlanta-based communications provider is now allowing customers to use their own SIP-compliant handset devices with its TotalCloud PBX hosted phone system.

TotalCloud PBX offers customers "an advanced phone system without the high costs of installing and maintaining PBX equipment," according to Birch.

The updated TotalCloud PBX, Birch said, enables customers to use SIP-compliant handset devices, and ultimately, eliminate the upfront costs of replacing their phones when they switch to TotalCloud PBX.

"Providing flexibility and allowing the customer to bring devices they already have helps their bottom line," a Birch spokesperson told Talkin' Cloud. "Add to that Birch metered and unlimited plans and the customer has the flexibility to spend only what they need, impacting their bottom line for years to come."

TotalCloud PBX delivers bring-your-own-device (BYOD) flexibility, Birch noted, and could help employees become more productive, efficient and reachable regardless of location as well.

Birch currently supports 200,000 customers across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, and the communications provider continues to explore ways to better support businesses of all sizes.

For example, Birch introduced new TotalCloud PBX features and plans in February. David Gibson, the company's vice president of business development, pointed out these updates would provide a "more affordable, easy-to-use product with built-in functionalities that markedly enhance the customer's experience."
