Seven Managed Services Blog Entries I Didn't Have Time to Write: Oct. 9

As I pack for Oracle OpenWorld and N-able Partner Summit, I'm getting pulled away from my keyboard. Alas, here are the seven managed services blog entries I didn’t have time to write for the week ending Oct. 9.

7. Check It Out... At A Later Date: ConnectWise announced integration with OnForce but pulled the press release since the integration work isn't done yet. OnForce -- the online marketplace that allows VARs to outsource work to one another -- already integrates with Autotask.

6. Cisco and Salesforce.com: They announced a partnership. I didn't give it much thought until Alpheon President Greg Donovan mentioned: "It could have some interesting implications in our space if it works.  Call handling and ticketing is a huge development area for the well-run MSP."

5. Let's Partner: Cabinet NG (CNG) is integrating its offerings with Tigerpaw Software. I have to follow up for more details.

4. MSP Services Network: Quite a lot is cooking at MSPSN, the master MSP. The efforts include an existing relationship with Autotask, plus recent moves involving ASCII Group and ConnectWise. We'll be pursuing deeper details next week.

3. About that Missing Document: Critics are quick to note I've yet to post the complete MSPmentor 250 PDF report. Level Platforms' Dan Wensley politely asked me about the report's MIA status during SMB Nation. It's nearly here. No doubt I have egg on my face. I'm eating humble pie. I'm a slacker... Or have I been moonlighting on another Nine Lives Media Inc. project we've yet to unveil? That's no excuse for delays... but stay tuned. Whatever we're working on may just show up... unannounced.

2. JoomConnect: This is a blog I've been striving to write for two weeks.  Don't wait on me. Check out JoomConnect for yourself. With a little luck and a little effort, I'll offer my own perspectives next week.

1. Paging All Cisco Partners: MSP software providers spent recent years pursuing Microsoft channel partners. Now, those software providers -- particularly Autotask, ConnectWise and N-able -- are striving to show some love to Cisco channel partners. I expect the trend to accelerate. N-able is quick to note that Cisco is a platinum sponsor of its partner conference.
