Azaleos Introduces Managed Services Software Development Kit

Azaleos Corp. is at it again. Just over a month ago, the managed messaging , collaboration and unified communications (UC) provider launched a ViewX CIO Dashboard to help customers track Azaleos-delivered managed services. Now, Azaleos is building upon the ViewX CIO Dashboard with a software development kit (SDK) for the ViewX remote monitoring system. Azaleos is calling it the “ViewX SDK.” To the best of our knowledge, this is one of the first times a managed services provider has developed an SDK to help promote partner integrations.

Here are some of its capabilities:

  • ViewX SDK lets hardware and app vendors “service-enable” their products so the y can integrate into Azaleos’s range of remote monitoring services for Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and Lync servers.
  • ViewX SDK lets companies outsource more of their infrastructure management by bringing elements from other data centers into the Azaleos ViewX CIO Dashboard.
  • Azeleos says the ViewX SDK will cut their clients’ cost and allow their IT departments to concentrate on “strategic initiatives.”
  • ViewX gives Azaleos Network Operations Centers (NOC’s) access to thousands of data points around the world so that NOC operators can fix network issues before they affect the end user.
Azaleos didn't specify whether the ViewX SDK is tailored to SMBs or larger enterprises. But here's the official spin from Azaleos VP of Product Management and Marketing Scott Gode:
“Azaleos remote management services are trusted by hundreds of medium and large organizations to keep their critical Microsoft unified communications, collaboration and messaging applications trouble free and always available. The ViewX SDK enables hardware and software vendors, with very little engineering investment, to plug their products into our monitoring platform so that customers can outsource their management responsibility to Azaleos. For IT departments, ViewX integration reduces total cost of ownership for third party products, while creating a new services revenue channel for Azaleos partners.”
No doubt, open APIs have been a hot trend in the managed services market. Many MSP software providers have been writing integrations between PSA (professional services automation), remote monitoring and management (RMM), cloud backup and security services. But we believe Azaleos is the first pure MSP -- rather than software vendor -- to mention their SDK efforts to MSPmentor.
