N-able by SolarWinds is giving managed service providers (MSPs) a single backup solution that is designed to address all of their customers’ needs.

The remote monitoring and management (RMM) software provider today launched Backup Manager – Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP), a solution that the company says combines deduplication, high availability, offsite replication and other backup management features into a single console.

“With data protection challenges becoming increasingly complex for businesses of all sizes, this new feature-rich solution is on point and in demand by our MSP partners,” N-able General Manager JP Jauvin said in a prepared statement. “Backup Manager UDP enables our MSPs to easily scale out across their customers’ IT environments, dramatically simplify backup management and deliver against their recovery point and recovery time objectives – whether on-premise, off-premise or in the cloud.”

Powered by Arcserve‘s UDP engine, Backup Manager UDP operates across virtual and physical environments and minimizes storage of any duplicate data by ensuring that the common files between multiple customer sites are only stored once, according to N-able.

The solution also provides image-based snapshot restores, N-able said, to help ensure business continuity without consuming too much storage.

Other Backup Manager UDP features include:

  • Agentless backup for VMware and Hyper-V (Windows and Linux virtual machines)

  • Built-in replication and high availability

  • Global deduplication

  • Migration of disk images to tape, with granular restore from disk or tape

  • Self-testing of backups as they are completed

  • Support for physical systems (Windows and Linux)

  • Task-based data protection and availability plans

N-able added that Backup Manager – UDP delivers remote monitoring capabilities when it is used in conjunction with the company’s N-central RMM platform.
