ManageEngine has revamped the web user interface (UI) for ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand, the software-as-a-service (SaaS) version of its help desk software.

The new ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand web UI is designed to provide IT technicians with a “very simple and easy-to-use operation,” ManageEngine said, to help them better support their customers.

“We live in a technology age where software user experience boundaries are pushed very hard,” Rajesh Ganesan, ManageEngine’s director of product management, said in a prepared statement. “Service desk agents live by the service desk tool all day and expect the user experience to match that of consumer applications. We understand this and are committed to continually providing our customers with the best user experience across all device types and form factors.”

ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand enables IT organizations to provide IT service management (ITSM), and ManageEngine said the software’s new web UI simplifies the delivery of help desk support.

ManageEngine said the updated ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand web UI features:

  • Color-coded conversations with end users

  • Facebook-like notifications

  • Faster page loads

  • Instant search of help desk configurations

  • Keyboard shortcuts

  • Multi-level nested business rules

  • Single window operation

“Ultimately, we expect IT techs to close tickets faster because they’re getting the information they need faster, and they’re getting it in a more streamlined fashion,” ManageEngine President Raj Sabhlok told MSPmentor.

Roughly 7,500 customers currently use ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand.

ManageEngine said the new ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand web UI has been “extensively fine-tuned to incorporate customer feedback and suggestions to deliver true value.”

The Pleasanton, California-based IT management software company noted the ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand web UI was built on the most recent JavaScript charting libraries and a custom JavaScript framework.

“We’re always looking to improve the end user experience of our products,” Sabhlok added. “And in this case, we came across a new JavaScript technology that delivered tremendous performance and usability advantages in another ManageEngine solution, so we incorporated that into ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand.”

The revamped ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand web UI is an automatic upgrade that is available immediately to all existing and new ServiceDesk Plus On-Demand customers.
