Kaseya Vets Surface at DR Startup Assuritive

An ex-Kaseya executive’s new company, Assuritive has entered the crowded disaster recovery and recovery services market. Max Duncan, is CTO of the new company, and he previously served as VP of global IT at Kaseya.

Assuritive announced this week that it has launched disaster recovery (DR) and replication services that managed service providers (MSPs) can offer to “transform IT downtime into [a] strategic advantage.” Lee Pearson, Assuritive’s CEO, said his company’s offerings feature a replication-as-a-service (RaaS) infrastructure to meet customers’ most complex needs.

Assuritive executives said that the company’s DR and replication services allow customers to mirror their infrastructure in a specialized DR cloud, and in the event of a disaster or testing, all components can be brought online without data loss.

“MSPs now have the ability to offer customers a strategic ROI from DR by virtually eliminating the downtime that costs customers their brand reputation, customer churn and wasted resources that could otherwise be employed in competitive activities, or worse cause business failure,” Pearson told MSPmentor.

Here’s what else Assuritive’s new DR and replication services deliver, according to the company:

  • Instant point-in-time recovery

  • Recovery from an IT failure within minutes

  • Testing of upgrades in a replicated environment prior to production deployment

Pearson said Assuritive offers a partner program that gives MSPs a choice of reseller support and training or commission-based pass-through support and billing for their largest customers.

Assuritive specializes in disaster recovery-as-a-service (DRaaS) and RaaS and “provides both legacy solutions for straightforward backup and high-performance real-time replication-as-a-service,” according to Pearson.

He said Assuritive has a strong pedigree in the managed services industry as well, which is reflected in the Assuritive leadership team’s experience, including Duncan.

The Assuritive leadership team also includes Kaseya co-founders Mark Sutherland and Paul Wong, who are board members for Assuritive’s technology advisory team.
