Continuum Offers Free Conversion for Zenith Infotech BDR MSPs

Remote monitoring and management provider Continuum is offering a free migration to its backup and disaster recovery (BDR) platform to managed service providers who use Zenith Infotech’s BDR devices. The offer is designed to save these MSPs on costs to switch platforms amid questions about Zenith Infotech’s future viability. Here are the details

Continuum’s offer gives MSPs its BDR Revive re-imaging tool to convert Zenith devices into Continuum Vault appliances. The re-imaging tool can also be used to repurpose other competitive hardware (including Dell AppAssure, Axcient, HEROware and Chartec) into Continuum Vault appliances, which combine BDR with remote monitoring and management in a single integrated solution.

The conversion deal includes 24×7 access to Continuum’s Zenith BDR support staff and is valued at $350 including the USB conversion tool and re-imaging software.

Continuum said it is extending the offer in response to “the concern of MSPs regarding Zenith Infotech.” Zenith Infotech received a court order in December telling it to sell its cloud business by April 2014 to pay debt. The court order (and subsequent December 2013 layoffs) were the latest development in a story that began in September 2011 when Zenith defaulted on a bond repayment at the same time it spun off its RMM business now known as Continuum. While Zenith Infotech CEO Akash Saraf apparently plans to appeal the court order, many MSPs are looking for safer havens.

“News reports are questioning Zenith Infotech’s future, and hundreds of MSPs have come to us concerned regarding the safety of their clients’ data, and we are helping them to provide the best service for their clients as easily and as cost-effectively as we can,” said Michael George, CEO of Continuum, in a prepared statement.

“Continuum understands the complexity and cost associated with making a switch of this magnitude, so we’ve made the Revive upgrade tool available at no cost through our BDR Replacement Program and we’ve assembled technical experts and support resources to help make the transition as easy as possible.”
