Talk about disruptive!

Security software vendor Comodo today announced it is literally giving away a year of help desk service to managed service providers (MSPs) – free of charge.

Company officials hope the promotion will help deepen its relationship with MSPs.

“With this one year of free Help Desk support, we hope to become even more deeply involved with the MSP community by helping them to improve their revenue streams, customer relationships and overall success,” said Ilker Simsir, director of product management at Comodo. “Having them experience our unmatched support at no cost firsthand will hopefully create a high level of trust between our companies, opening the door to even more opportunities to work together in the future.”

The Comodo Help Desk support service is staffed with certified technicians who can handle most Level 1 and 2 requests.

“It eliminates the need to hire additional employees and allows the MSP to scale quickly, manage more efficiently and grow its business without limits,” the company said in a statement. “Comodo takes over the troubleshooting, setup, tune up and maintenance so you and your team can focus on higher level projects.”

MSPs that sign up for the promotion will leverage Comodo’s Help Desk ticketing system.

“Available 24/7, it enables you and your team to relax and enjoy your after hours and weekends while simultaneously increasing revenue and providing an increased IT presence,” the statement said.

The service can offer help with the following types of issues:

  • Virus & malware removal

  • Desktop performance optimization

  • PC and peripheral tune up/troubleshoot

  • Printer and peripheral setup/troubleshoot

  • User administration

  • ISP problems troubleshoot

  • Email and browser setup/troubleshoot

  • Application setup/troubleshoot (e.g. MS Office, client application)

  • Shared drive setup

  • Software installation/uninstallation/updates

  • Assistance with backup (local & cloud) and recovery

  • Escalate any further predefined issues (like hardware) to your teams based on your rules
