Carbonite Adds New Backup Appliances to DR Portfolio
Carbonite (CARB) has added five backup appliances and a new version of its Carbonite Server Backup – Carbonite Server Advanced solution to its disaster recovery (DR) portfolio.
The Boston-based cloud and hybrid business continuity solutions provider said its DR solutions now provide “the ultimate flexibility” to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
So what should managed service providers (MSPs) expect from Carbonite’s new releases?
David Raissipour, Carbonite’s senior vice president of Engineering, told MSPmentor that Carbonite Server Advanced features:
- Live database backup
- Virtual machine (VM) backup
- Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Online backup
In addition, Carbonite said its new backup appliances offer:
- All-in-one hybrid backup
- Image backup and bare metal recovery
- Monitoring and management capabilities
- No per-device license fees
- Mini-tower and rack-mount options with either 4TB or 8TB of local storage
“Carbonite’s disaster recovery solutions provide bare metal recovery that will quickly restore a server to its original state, even to dissimilar hardware,” Raissipour said in a prepared statement. “With options that include granular database backup, separate local and cloud retention policies, and control over scheduling, we’re providing small businesses with a complete solution that ensures their critical data is safe from disaster, security threats and human error.”
Raissipour noted that Carbonite’s backup appliances lineup will be available exclusively through its channel partners.
Carbonite currently has more than 7,000 active resellers in its partner program, according to Raissipour.
He also pointed out that Carbonite will continue to explore ways to support its channel partners.
