Carbonite Adds Automation, Office 365 Features to MailStore Server

Carbonite (CARB) is now offering managed service providers (MSPs) a fully integrated job scheduler that eliminates the need for third-party scheduling tools.

The Boston-based backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solutions provider has updated its MailStore Server email archiving solution to enable MSPs to automate all security and maintenance tasks, including backups, data verification and compacting of databases.

In addition, Carbonite has incorporated new Microsoft Office 365 support and search features into MailStore Server. These features ensure user authentication can be carried out directly using Office 365 access data, Carbonite said, and make it easier for users to navigate through search results and content within folders.

Christopher Wey, Carbonite’s vice president of corporate development, noted that MailStore Server enables MSPs to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) reduce the risk of data loss and meet growing regulations relating to email compliance, eDiscovery and other legislation.

MSPs also could leverage MailStore Server to boost their recurring revenues, Wey said.

“MailStore Server has been and continues to be a simple, affordable email archiving solution. … [It] allows MSPs to build recurring revenue while offering a business-critical service to their clients,” he told MSPmentor. “With the latest version of MailStore Server, MSPs will have even greater management capabilities and will enjoy better integration with Office 365.”

Carbonite acquired MailStore in December, and over 25,000 business customers in more than 100 countries currently use MailStore Server to create copies of emails in a central email archive.

The new MailStore Server release is available free of charge to all MailStore customers with active update and support service. A free 30-day trial version of MailStore Server can be downloaded here.
