Asigra Cloud Backup Summit Gets Underway in Toronto
Cloud backup, recovery and restore software provider Asigra is gathering its partners in Toronto this week for its Cloud Backup Summit, an event that started today with training sessions for partners. But the main event will come tomorrow during a keynote address from Asigra’s CEO David Farajun who founded the company back in 1986 when not too many people thought about computer backup or cloud computing let alone did it. Today Asigra’s agentless backup recovery and restore software serves 550,000 customers, all through channel partners and managed services providers. MSPmentor will be on the scene and get you the scoop.
Farajun will take the stage on June 12, and he may just talk about the company’s momentum, that big customer number and the fact that about 150,000 of its newest customers just came onboard with Asigra between October 2011 and March of 2012. No word yet on how those numbers grew between March and now, but my bet is that Farajun will talk about that, too.
Asigra executives are also expected to share information about how solution providers can capitalize on the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend, as well as provide some updates and information about enhancements to the Asigra Partner program. Asigra also will have partners on hand to present use cases for mobile devices and how to differentiate your cloud backup service — a timely topic given how many new providers have cropped up since 1986.
In fact, the schedule is so full and packed with programming that it’s unlikely that this blogger will get to to to the top of that really, really tall tower (pictured) during this visit to Toronto. There’s always next time.
