Acronis has added automated service management tools to its Backup Cloud solution.

The hybrid cloud data protection software company this week released Acronis Backup Cloud version 5, which features automated service management tools designed to allow managed service providers to “better manage consumption, quotas and backup alerts.”

So what does Acronis Backup Cloud 5 mean for MSPs? Acronis said the new release boasts numerous capabilities that could help service providers save time and increase their revenues.

Acronis Backup Cloud 5 includes self-service backup monitoring capabilities and a centralized dashboard that enables users to view alerts and conduct audits from a single location, Acronis said. 

It also is based upon a cloud architecture and designed to fit any service provider technology environment and business model, according to Acronis. 

In addition, Acronis has launched Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7, a new version of its unified backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solution for businesses.

Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 features:

“Our latest Acronis Backup solutions have been pushed to the limit when it comes to testing, performance and reliability,” Acronis Chief Marketing Officer John Zanni said in a prepared statement. 

The BDR services market, meanwhile, may represent a significant growth area for MSPs over the next few years as well.

Market research firm Research and Markets, for example, has predicted this sector will expand at a 12.47 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 2014 and 2019, which could create new revenue opportunities for MSPs worldwide.
