TUC Managed IT Solutions has acquired Canadian-based global IT service desk organization Millennium Care Inc. to expand TUC operations and launch a 24/7 service center.

As a result of this acquisition, Millennium Care’s service desk will be integrated with TUC Live Agent to deliver 24/7 multi-lingual support across North America through TUC operations in Toronto and a 24/7 service center in Summerside, PEI, supporting more than 30,000 end users in mid-enterprises (ranging from 100 to 10,000 users).

TUC President and CEO Mark Scott told MSPmentor that the company is making a big investment in Summerside because it will make the region on the eastern coast of Canada a cornerstone managed service center for TUC in North America, but he wants more.

"The West Coast is an area we would like to grow in 2014," he said. "We need to be in Silicon Valley."

He added that the company is still actively looking for more acquisitions, but requires potential MSPs to meet the following criteria: a high degree of process maturity in a service delivery model, a mid-enterprise market focus, an offering for private cloud services and an offering for application services.

Scott said the company is adapting to new MSP models through recent acquisitions, pointing to an MSP market that remains "highly fragmented" with many top regional MSPs wanting to remain "big fish in a small pond."

"I believe the cloud in combination with large managed service centers (I didn't say call centers) will make these ponds into one ocean within five years," he said.
