Storage Provider Nimbus Adds Ex-NetApp Execs to Team
Nimbus Data Systems, the sustainable storage and Flash storage provider, has added three new executives to its sales management team. The company’s newest executive members will lead the company’s efforts to expand Nimbus’ global sales figures, according to a company press release. What’s even more interesting is that Nimbus has taken all of three new hires away from NetApp, another network storage provider. The three new executives are as follows:
Nimbus VP of U.S. Sales Jim Choumas: Choumas brings over two decade of enterprise sales management and business development to Nimbus. Most recently, Choumas let the Global Major Accounts sector for NetApp, a network storage provider.
Nimbus VP of Systems Engineering John Harechmak: Nimbus has stolen another member away from NetApp with the addition of Harechmak, who was most recently the Senior Director of System Engineering for NetApp before making the jump to Nimbus. Harechmak not only has experience as a system engineer himself. He has been building and managing storage system engineering and professional services teams for over two decades.
Nimbus VP of Central Europe Michel Schipperijn: Then there’s Michel Schipperijn, formerly NetApp’s Sales Director for the Netherlands, who brings 20 years of experience building sales teams and channel partnerships throughout Europe. Schipperijn has held similar positions with Cisco Systems and 3Com.
So do these moves say more about the success of Nimbus, or are they a sign of internal problems with NetApp? Only time will tell. Harechmak said the completeness of the Nimbus platform is what attracted him to the company. And both Schipperijn and Choumas described Nimbus as “an innovative company.” We’ll have to wait and see if there are any repercussions for NetApp following the departure of three of its sales leaders. As far as Nimbus is concerned, they’ve brought on three sales professionals with long and successful records on the international stage.
