Cloud security software provider Skyhigh Networks has announced it has raised $40 million in a Series C funding round led by venture capital firms Greylock Partners and Sequoia Capital.

Salesforce.com (CRM) also participated in the Series C funding round.

The new investment brings Skyhigh Networks’ total capital raised to $66.5 million, according to the company.

Skyhigh Networks CEO Rajiv Gupta said his company plans to use the additional funds to expand its cloud security market presence.

“At Skyhigh, we are laser-focused on helping chief information officers (CIOs) and chief information security officers (CISOs) enable the adoption of cloud services that empower employees and drive productivity and business innovation while addressing their security, compliance and governance requirements,” Gupta said in a prepared statement. “With this funding, we will expand sales and double down on product innovation to continue to deliver the industry’s most comprehensive, effective and easy-to-consume cloud security offering.”

Gupta pointed out Skyhigh Networks will accelerate its expansion into international markets as well.

At least 200 enterprises currently use Skyhigh Networks, including:

  • BMC Software

  • Cisco Systems

  • Diebold

  • DirectTV

  • Equinix

Skyhigh Networks said it enables enterprises across every industry vertical to adopt cloud services and enforce their security, compliance and governance policies.
