Life sciences industry specialist Pharmica Consulting today announced it will offer a cloud-based clinical trial management system (CTMS).

The company said its CTMS is integrated with Microsoft (MSFT) Office tools to help life sciences companies solve centralization and user experience issues.

Life sciences companies often use a CTMS to manage large amounts of data during a clinical trial.

Pharmica Partner Matt Kiernan noted many of today’s CTMS solutions require users to perform the same work across multiple types of software.

He said his company’s CTMS, however, leverages Microsoft Excel, Outlook and SharePoint tools to help life sciences firms become more efficient.

Pharmica’s CTMS runs on Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online and integrates with study portals and electronic trial master file (eTMF) systems, according to the company.

“With the Microsoft Office integration, we are looking at a tool that will revolutionize how people work with and view CTMS software,” Pharmica Partner Eric Lake said in a prepared statement.

The system also is user-friendly, Kiernan added, and the Office integration could transform how life sciences companies use CTMS software.

“Current CTMS solutions have not changed since the 90’s and require that the same work be done across multiple pieces of software,” he said. “Pharmica’s CTMS now changes that.”
