New Managed Services Vertical: Country Clubs?

caddyshack

Caddyshack references aside, Computer Service Partners (CSP), a managed services provider in Raleigh, N.C., has discovered a vertical market niche that most rival MSPs have overlooked. Indeed, CSP has signed managed services deals with Prestonwood Country Club, MacGregor Downs Country Club, and several other country clubs in the region.

The deals don’t sound all that “sexy.” Generally speaking, it sounds like the engagements involve basic network monitoring, maintenance and helpdesk services. But that’s precisely the point: Country Clubs have never been known for their IT staffing or advanced technologies — making them ripe for basic managed services.

Moreover, some upscale country clubs certainly need modern solutions for reservation systems, point-of-sale (PoS) solutions, digital signage, and more. Plus, many country clubs have predictable revenue streams that ensure MSP contracts get paid.

I’m checking in with CSP’s John Livesay to find out how his managed services practice first spotted the opportunity within country clubs.
