Managed Services Acquisition: Aldridge Company Buys MSP
The managed services market in Houston, Texas, continues to see merger and acquisition (M&A) activity. The latest deal involves The Aldridge Company buying Extreme Technologies’ IT managed services practice. This is the second acquisition that The Aldridge Company has made so far in 2012.
The Aldridge Company provides dedicated hosting, cloud hosting and IT solutions to its SMB customers. The company has pushed beyond traditional corporate IT solutions to leverage open source and emerging cloud platform tools like CentOS, FreeBSD, Red Hat and Parallels. Financial terms of the Extreme Technologies’ MSP buyout were not disclosed, nor do I know how many Extreme Technologies employees are joining The Aldridge Company.
Earlier this year, The Aldridge Company also acquired the IT services arm of Rafte & Company, which has extensive reach into such vertical markets as legal services and nonprofit organizations.
In 2011, The Aldridge Company was listed as No. 11 on the Houston Business Journal’s Fast Tech 50 list of fastest growing Houston technology companies.
The massive IT market in Texas has generated plenty of M&A activity in recent years. Among the potential consolidators MSPmentor has been watching: White Glove Technologies, VerityThree and Network Elites, and others.
Elsewhere, a growing number of MSPs are turning to M&A advisors to assist with potential company buyouts.
