LabtechCloud, an independent company that hosts Labtech software for MSPs, has changed its name to TechlabCloud. The move should help to eliminate potential branding confusion between Labtech (the software company) and the former LabtechCloud (an independent hosting partner). Here’s the update.

As MSPmentor reported in November, LabtechCloud was launched to offer a cloud-based version of LabTech Software (the remote monitoring and management tool). LabtechCloud’s tagline clearly identified that the company was not associated with its software partner, LabTech. But still: MSPmentor openly wondered if MSPs and VARs would be confused about who owns and operates LabtechCloud.

Any potential confusion ends now. Check the LabtechCloud site and you’ll find the company has been rebranded as TechlabCloud. And you’ll discover that the a broader TechlabCloud tagline that mentions “Cloud based RMM, powered by The I.T. Answer.”

According to a prepared statement from Kevin Carlson, CEO of The I.T. Answer (TechlabCloud’s parent):

Sounds like a win-win move: TechlabCloud now has the flexibility to move in multiple RMM directions while continuing to promote hosted LabTech. On the flip side, LabTech Software won’t need to tell MSPs that LabtechCloud is an independent business with no direct connection to LabTech.
