Cloud services company Evolve IP has purchased Webcore Technologies, an Austin, Texas-based managed service provider (MSP).

Full terms of the agreement were not disclosed; however, Evolve IP Chief Operating Officer Guy Fardone told MSPmentor that the Webcore transaction was a multi-million dollar deal and was part of the execution of a senior secured loan that his company received last year.

The acquisition also could help Evolve IP expand nationally, Fardone said.

“Webcore Technologies has a seasoned management team with years of experience running a highly scalable help desk, a long-term customer base and are based in a high-growth tech region of the U.S. where we did not have a prior physical presence,” he said.

Thomas J. Gravina, Evolve IP’s CEO, said he believes that the Webcore acquisition provides his company with “an even greater opportunity to help customers take advantage of [its] unified cloud platform.”

Evolve IP now has the opportunity to bundle its nationwide cloud computing with Webcore’s remote management and help desk offerings, which could appeal to businesses that want to leverage the cloud, according to Fardone.

More than 75,000 users currently leverage Evolve IP’s OneCloud virtual private cloud to manage all of their IT services in a single cloud, and Fardone noted that Evolve IP wants to find new ways to enhance this solution.

To accomplish this goal, Fardone said Evolve IP is evaluating the possibility of additional acquisitions as well.

“In addition to rolling out services to our national customer base, we will be looking to drive new cloud opportunities that leverage MSP and help desk capabilities,” Fardone said. “We will also continue to evaluate acquisition opportunities across the United States, not only [for] MSPs but other cloud companies that are looking to grow with us.”
