Distribution Watch: Synnex, ScanSource, D&H Distributing

Happy Friday, and welcome to this week’s Distribution Watch, out regularly scheduled update of what’s going on in the distribution space. This week we’ve got news from Synnex, ScanSource and D&H Distributing, so sit back, grab a tasty beverage and we’ll get this party started.

Synnex: The Canadian arm of Synnex has added KEMP Technologies’ LoadMaster load balancer and application delivery controllers to its portfolio of offerings. Under the terms of the agreement, Synnex Canada will offer KEMP’s full line of hardware and virtual appliances.

KEMP had been selling its technologies in Canada directly through resellers. The relationship with Synnex Canada will provide KEMP’s resellers with greater support, the company said.

“We are continuing to expand our global footprint while making sure we are supplying exceptional load balancing solutions with full support to our customers,” said Dave Hickey, VP of Sales at KEMP Technologies. “We understand the importance of having a strong channel focus in Canada in order to reach new customers. Having a two-tier channel strategy through a reputable partner such as SYNNEX Canada is key to achieving our goals. Our joint collaboration is a natural follow-on to our recent investments in Canada.”

ScanSource: The value-added distributor has moved its Cisco (CSCO) practice from the ScanSource Security business unit to its ScanSource Catalyst business unit.  ScanSource Catalyst is a specialty distributor that has been focused on voice, video and networking solutions and support for more than 15 years.

ScanSource Catalyst will carry Cisco’s collaboration and networking products, enabling Cisco’s resellers to benefit from ScanSource Catalyst’s specialty focus, including its people, tools and solutions, according to the distributor.

“We are very excited to add Cisco’s Collaboration and Networking solutions to the ScanSource Catalyst line card,” said Mike Ferney, vice president of merchandising, ScanSource Catalyst. “Cisco’s industry-leading technologies and market presence in the communications space is an ideal match for our established expertise and experience in this space.”

D&H Distributing: Our friends in Harrisburg are hosting their annual Mid-Atlantic Technology Show Wednesday, June 5, at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center in Hershey, Pa. The event will feature seminars on BYOD/mobility, the Cloud, Windows 8, servers, security and more from Cisco, HP, Microsoft, Lenovo, Intel, and Cloud Nation. More than 1,000 attendees are expected to attend the daylong event.

Attendees will get the chance to win a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad with retina display and accessory bundle from Logitech and a Case Logic 30-inch XN Urban Rolling Duffel bag.

Well, as they say in show business, that’s all, folks. Check back next week to see what’s going on. Until then, stay safe.
