Welcome back to Distribution Watch, loyal readers. This week we've got the latest news from ScanSource, Arrow Electronics (ARW) and Tech Data (TECD).
ScanSource: ScanSource signed a distribution agreement with Unify, a communications software and services firm, to sell the company’s portfolio to partners in the United States and Canada. The deal expands upon ScanSource’s previous agreement to distribute Unify’s solutions to channel partners in the United Kingdom and parts of Europe.
Unify’s OpenScape solutions and Circuit platform are now available to ScanSource’s North American channel partners via the company’s ScanSource Catalyst business unit, according to the announcement.
“We are pleased to expand our portfolio of communications and collaboration offerings with the addition of Unify’s OpenScape solution and Circuit,” said Tom Walker, vice president of Sales for ScanSource Catalyst, in a statement. “We are committed to providing a comprehensive platform of communications solutions to our partners, coupled with our value-added services offering, so that they can continue to meet the changing demands of their end-user customers.”
Arrow Electronics: Arrow Electronics’ Value Recovery Business was named a Gold Leader in the Colorado Department of Public Heath and Environment’s Environmental Leadership Program.
Each year, Colorado organizations are recognized for voluntarily going beyond compliance with state and federal regulations and for committing to continuously improving the environment. Arrow was one of 12 new companies designated as a Gold Leader this year, according to the announcement.
“Arrow’s Value Recovery business kept an estimated 54 million metric tons of e-waste out of landfills last year because we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously,” said Mark Majeske, president of Arrow’s global reverse logistics business. “Arrow is honored to receive this Gold Leader designation from the Colorado Environmental Leadership Program.”
Tech Data: Tech Data recently added Aria’s cloud-hosted telecom and collaboration platform to its list of cloud solution providers in the United States.
The platform, which is available now through the TD Cloud Solutions Store, is a Cisco-based hosted platform that features all of the solutions found in an on-premise Cisco system with a per-user subscription model.
“Our proprietary phone solution is a gateway to upselling and cross-selling opportunities of collaboration and other advanced technologies,” said David Smith, CEO and founder of Aria. “Aria is essentially a means to lower barriers to entry to new business and a monthly recurring revenue model for resellers.”
That’s all for this week folks, but we’ll return next week with even more great distribution-centric news. Until then, keep on distributing.
