Happy Friday, and welcome to this week’s Distribution Watch, our weekly listing of news and information related to the distribution community. This week we’ve got news from Jenne Inc. and D&H Distributing, so let’s take a closer look.

Jenne Inc.: The value-added distributor of IP telephony, audio- and videoconferencing, unified communications, data networking and IT security products has launched a four-part video tutorial series in conjunction with manufacturer partner LifeSize. The video and webinar series, the first of which is available now on the LifeSize UVC Video Center, provides resellers with all the background knowledge they need to “take the plunge into the world of social media and potentially increase branding awareness and sales opportunities,” according to the company.

In the first part of the series, Simon Dudley, LifeSize’s video evangelist, covers social media tool fundamentals such as establishing profiles among different tools and creating user alerts, as well as potential communication applications and differences among each of the primary social media channels. Part two of the video series will cover how resellers can use social media to garner leads; part three of the series will focus on how to effectively utilize LinkedIn; and part four will be a live webinar with Simon Dudley answering resellers’ questions.

D&H Distributing: The computer products and consumer electronics distributor is running a special promotion during the month of November in which its independent resellers can receive double the amount of points through its Incentives Rewards loyalty program. All of the plan’s participating vendors are offering these double points, the distributor noted.

In addition, a select set of manufacturers is offering triple incentive points on qualifying purchases, and D&H is increasing its investment in the Incentives program to deliver additional value to its customers, thanking them for their business by allowing them to earn reward prizes more quickly.

D&H customers automatically build a point balance through their purchases, and can redeem points upon their enrollment in the program. One Incentives point is earned for every $10 of qualifying merchandise from D&H’s sponsor vendors.  Customers can claim prizes in the D&H Incentives Mall, which offers products such as iPads, HDTVs, Blu-ray players, digital cameras, GPS units, small and major appliances, and many other items.

And that’s this week’s Distribution Watch. Check back next week for more distribution news and notes. Until then, stay safe.
