Distribution Watch: Ingram Micro, Tech Data, Arrow Electronics

Happy Friday, and welcome back to Distribution Watch. This week we’ve got updates from big name distributors Ingram Micro (IM), Tech Data (TECD) and Arrow Electronics (ARW). You know the drill, so let’s get started.

Ingram Micro: Ingram Micro Canada is now the exclusive Canadian distribution partner for Invixium’s IXM line of biometric fingerprint access control products. With its exclusive deal, Ingram Micro Canada will distribute Invixium’s full line of biometric access control solutions to channel partners throughout Canada.

The distributor expects the partnership will broaden Invixium’s reach throughout Canada and make it easier for partners to market and deploy its solutions to end-point customers. Ingram Micro also plans to expand its distribution agreement with Invixium globally in the near future.

"Our new relationship with Invixium broadens our physical security portfolio and provides channel partners with a proven and flexible solution that offers their end users an easy to use and highly secure and advanced access control system," said Suzanne Macdonald, director of Sales at Ingram Micro Canada, in a statement. "Physical security represents a fast-growing, converging market opportunity for channel partners, and is a key area of focus and specialization for Ingram Micro."

Tech Data: Tech Data’s Integrated Supply Chain Services division will manage the fulfillment services for Xerox’s authorized agents selling A3 multifunction printers and small A4 products, the distributor announced this week. The agreement will charge Tech Data’s ISCS team with managing several aspects of the Xerox fulfillment services to support the company’s indirect sales strategy, according to the distributor.

"We understand the power of the channel and aligning with Tech Data will further enhance Xerox's relevance to our agents and strengthen our go-to-market approach for our indirect channels," said Peter Ward, vice president, Global Distribution Operations at Xerox.  "As we look for the most efficient fulfillment services model, Tech Data's expertise in this area will serve us well."

Arrow Electronics: Business intelligence (BI) solution provider Information Builders has partnered with Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions to distribute the company’s WebFOCUS Express offering. The solution is designed to deliver BI benefits to small organizations by integrating information sources and improving business insight, according to the company.

“The addition of Information Builders’ WebFOCUS to the Arrow portfolio is key to building out our Analytics Solution Practice,” said Mark Taylor, vice president of Enterprise Servers, Systems and Software at Arrow ECS. “This product set will complement our current offerings with its proven performance, ease of use, and self-service abilities of WebFOCUS Express to organizations across the globe.”

Arrow will distribute both a software-only version of WebFOCUS Express for IBM Power Systems running Linux and an Intel version running both Linux and Windows. Arrow also will manufacture and distribute an IBM Power Systems Linux Appliance version of WebFOCUS Express in both North America and EMEA, according to the press release.

That’s all the time we have for this week, loyal readers. Come on back here next week for more news, updates and announcements. Until then, have a great weekend, and keep on distributing.
