Distribution Watch: Ingram Micro, Securematics, Jenne Inc.

Happy Thursday! As usual, we've got your weekly collection of distributor-centric news featuring our friends from Ingram Micro (IM), Securematics and Jenne, Inc.

Ingram Micro: Ingram Micro has purchased VoIP solutions and IP phone distributor NEXTUSA, the company announced last week. The acquisition is expected to bring additional solutions to Ingram’s existing UCC business as well as a selection of service offerings, including “provisioning and configuration solutions, order management tools and zero-touch warranty handling.”

Ingram Micro said it expects the NEXTUSA management team to remain in place. No financial details of the acquisition were disclosed.

“NETXUSA has a strong and well-established leadership position in the U.S. UCC market and a history of robust revenue growth and profitability,” said Alain Monié, Ingram Micro CEO, in a statement. “In addition, Ingram Micro gains immediate access to a new telecom service provider customer set, relationships we expect to leverage across our global organization.”

Securematics: Ruckus Wireless has named Securematics, a specialty distributor of secure networking solutions and support, as the preferred distributor of its Smart Wi-Fi products.

Securematics is the first distributor authorized to sell joint wired and wireless solutions from Ruckus Wireless and Juniper Networks (JNPR), according to the company. The distributor said it is also working to offer its channel partners access to a team of specialized marketing, sales and technical experts to boost customer sales and engagement.

“The need for simple, secure, wireless-enabled branch and campus networks is growing, especially within midmarket organizations and across verticals such as education, which requires enterprise-grade technology that can be deployed and managed at an affordable price point,” said Brian Vincik, vice president and general manager of Securematics. “Being able to sell and support Ruckus and Juniper together is a value proposition unique to Securematics and our channel partners.”

Jenne: Jenne has partnered with GreatAmerica Financial Services on a new financing program designed to provide its resellers with access to a “scalable alternative to floor plan financing.”

Through the program, Jenne’s reseller partners will be able to allow customers to select a payment financing plan of either 90 days with no interest or 12 payments to own with only one advance payment, according to Dean Jenne, president of Sales and Marketing at Jenne Inc. Customers are only required to make one payment up front, and can either pay the remainder at the end of the 90 day period with no interest or extend the agreement into a series of 12 monthly payments.

“This exclusive program for Jenne, Inc. addresses the limits of traditional floor planning transactions,” said Wil Meggers, vice president and general manager at GreatAmerica Financial. “It is more scalable because the obligation to pay isn’t on the reseller’s shoulders; rather it is up to the end user to determine how they want to pay for the equipment.”
