Hey, Distribution Watchers! It’s Friday, and we’re so glad you decided to join us for another round of the latest news from all of your favorite distributors. This week we’re turning the spotlight on D&H Distributing and Ingram Micro (IM).
D&H: Our friends in Harrisburg have appointed Peter DiMarco as the company’s first vice president of VAR Sales for its Computer Products Division, responsible for overseeing sales teams working with all value added distributors that sell through the CPD division. Additionally, DiMarco will manage both inside and outside sales teams in an effort to increase sales in D&H’s existing channels, while supporting new market growth strategies for SMB solution providers, according to the announcement.
D&H also appointed Fred Eddy as vice president of sales for its retail, e-tail and direct market reseller segment within the CPD division, responsible for driving higher growth within each segment. Both men will report to Senior Vice President of Sales Jeff Davis in their new roles.
“We’re thrilled to bring on Peter DiMarco in this new capacity, to help D&H generate new sales and make inroads with a larger customer base of mid-market solution providers, as well as help our current resellers migrate to higher sales,” said Davis, in a statement. “Peter’s breadth of expertise is substantial, delivering decades of industry acumen to support D&H’s latest initiatives.”
Ingram Micro: Unified communications and enterprise phone systems provider ShoreTel (SHOR) has expanded its relationship with Ingram Micro to include ShoreTel Sky, the company’s cloud-based solution for business telephony.
The agreement extends Ingram’s four-year relationship with ShoreTel and makes the company the second distributor to offer both ShoreTel’s on-premise and cloud-based solutions to channel partners in the United States, according to the announcement.
“We have a long-standing alliance with Ingram Micro, and today’s news furthers their commitment to the ShoreTel solutions portfolio,” said David Petts, senior vice president of Worldwide Sales at ShoreTel. “Ingram Micro is among a select group of go-to-market partners that can offer premises, cloud and hybrid UC solutions, ensuring customers the greatest choice and flexibility that allow them to realize increased productivity and improved communications.”
In other Ingram News, the distributor announced its Contract Management Service, which will act as a sales, service and support program for channel partners focused on the federal marketplace. The service is expected to help partners in the Ingram Micro Federal Advantage Program obtain the contract management and support services they need to secure long-term government IT service contracts, according to the announcement.
“The Federal market is fiercely competitive and demands a much higher touch from channel partners on the front- and back-end of the deal in order to win and maintain these strategic, high-value contracts,” said Tony Vottima, executive director of Ingram Micro. “Our new Federal Advantage Program and Contract Management Service simplify the sale and success by giving channel partners the advantage when selling to and supporting the federal market.”
Ingram’s federal market partners will have access to a new contract bid desk, contract management resources and priority SLAs through the service, as well as an expanded technology portfolio and a dedicated market development team. Active members of the Ingram Micro Public Sector Elite community will receive discounted access to the Contract Management Service, the distributor said.
Thanks for joining us, and we hope you have a wonderful weekend and get to enjoy some beautiful May weather. Until next time, keep on distributing.
