Distribution Watch: Arrow Electronics, Ingram Micro

Welcome back to Distribution Watch, your one-stop shop for all the latest news from your favorite distributors. As we get ready to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this weekend, let’s check out which distributors have the luck of the Irish. Today, we’ve got the latest news from Arrow Electronics (ARW) and Ingram Micro (IM).

Arrow Electronics: M2M products and services vendor Digi has expanded its distribution agreement with Arrow Electronics. As part of the deal, Arrow will offer Digi’s suite of embedded products and Device Cloud by Etherios, which allows any device to communicate with any application in the world.

"This agreement is a great opportunity to raise awareness of Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) around the world. We believe this extension of our relationship will greatly strengthen our international reach, offering our joint clients the technology and services they require to build innovative products," said Kevin C. Riley, senior vice president of Global Sales, Digi International in a statement. "We are thrilled to work with Arrow, a company that knows how to provide extraordinary value to customers by bringing the right technology solutions and services along with a high level of expertise, to help them drive business efficiencies."

More good news for Arrow, as the company was recently named among Fortune's “World’s Most Admired Companies” for the 14th year in a row. The distribution giant topped the magazine’s list in the “Wholesalers: Electronics and Office Equipment” category, and is also ranked 141 among Fortune 500 companies.

“Arrow is honored to be included once again on this prestigious list of top corporations and to be seen as the most respected by those in our industry,” said Michael J. Long, chairman, president and CEO of Arrow. “This recognition is a testament to Arrow’s long-standing commitment to guiding innovation forward for our customers worldwide.”

Arrow received top scores for each of Fortune’s nine “key attributes of reputation” which included innovation, quality of products and services and financial soundness.

Ingram Micro: The global distributor has added the SkyKick Migration Suite to its already expansive portfolio, in a bid to bring channel partners a new automated method for migration to Office 365. According to the press release, the SkyKick Migration Suite automates the entire Office 365 migration process, allowing partners to improve sales velocity and reduce downtime.

"This agreement with Ingram Micro and its Cloud Marketplace is a major milestone for SkyKick because it expands our reach to enable us to help thousands of more partners," said SkyKick co-CEO Evan Richman in a statement. "Office 365 is growing rapidly and we look forward to helping more channel partners successfully scale their cloud practice. That's why we look forward to enabling Ingram Micro's channel partners to help get their customers there in the most cost-effective, resource-efficient and simplified fashion possible."

That’s all for this week’s Distribution Watch. Have a happy and safe St. Patrick’s Day weekend, and remember to wear green! See you next week, same place, same time.
